Brampton moves, arranged by our Toronto / GTA office
Men In Trucks Moving Inc. was founded in Ottawa in 2010. Our Toronto / GTA office is new and Men In Trucks is new to Brampton, so this page has no Brampton testimonials, job counts or local history. It shows how we price, plan and confirm a move here: Men In Trucks crews handle local moves in Brampton, arranged through the office on Front Street West.
Brampton is a service area for that office, not an office location. It is about 40 km by road (OpenStreetMap routing) from the office to a reference point in Brampton.

Moving-day rules in Brampton
Streets and parking in Brampton follow City of Brampton rules. Garbage, bulky items and household hazardous waste are Region of Peel services. Each point below links to the official page. Rules can change, so check the linked page close to your moving date. General information, not legal advice.
The truck on your street: three hours, 2 a.m. and large vehicles
Brampton's Traffic and Parking By-law (By-law 93-93) does not allow parking on a street for longer than three hours unless signs allow it, or between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. Its definition of parking leaves out a vehicle standing temporarily while it is actually engaged in loading or unloading merchandise or passengers. A separate rule bans parking a large vehicle, over 2.6 metres tall or 6.7 metres long, on a street in a residential zone unless it is being used at the time to make a delivery or to provide a service (By-law 93-93, consolidated text revised February 2026, PDF (opens in a new tab)).
The same by-law rules out parking in front of a driveway, within 3 metres of a fire hydrant, within 9 metres of an intersection, on a boulevard, or on a sidewalk in a way that blocks it. The City warns that parking or stopping in a fire route, mainly the driveways and lanes near the entrances of buildings, stores and schools, can bring a significant fine and a tow (City of Brampton parking enforcement (opens in a new tab)). At a condo or a plaza, we plan the truck stop around the loading area the building names, not the fire route at the door.
Your own car, the driveway and parking considerations
If the truck needs your driveway and your car has to stay on the street for more than three hours or overnight, Brampton residents can request a parking consideration online, for up to 14 days each calendar year per vehicle licence plate. A consideration does not cover a large vehicle unless it is designed for recreational use, it does not prevent a ticket for blocking snow clearing, and none are issued during winter weather events (City of Brampton: permission to park on the street (opens in a new tab)).
Moving containers and disposal bins
Brampton's by-law counts placing large refuse containers or bulk containers on a highway as obstructing it, and its definition of highway takes in the whole area between the property lines, boulevard included. Keep a rented moving container or a disposal bin on your own property, on the part of your driveway inside the property line, not on the stretch next to the curb or across the sidewalk. If you think it has to go on the road or the boulevard, ask the City through 311 first (By-law 93-93, section 29 (opens in a new tab)).
Condos, apartments and townhouse complexes
A condominium, whether it is a tower or a townhouse complex, has rules passed by its board, and every member of the condo community must comply with the Condo Act and the corporation's governing documents (Condominium Authority of Ontario (opens in a new tab)). Get the move rules from your property manager early and send them to us; we plan the crew and timing around them.
Questions to ask your property manager before you pick a date:
- On which days and at what times are moves allowed, and how do you book the service elevator?
- Does the corporation ask for a move-in or move-out deposit?
- Where may the truck stop: a loading area, your driveway, visitor parking or the street?
- Does the corporation want any documents from the moving company before move day?
If the corporation asks for a document from us, send that request before you book, and the Toronto / GTA team will say whether it can supply it. The booking form covers elevators and whether each one is booked, and lets you choose a morning, midday, afternoon or flexible arrival window in Eastern Time.
Basement and second units
The City of Brampton calls a self-contained unit with its own kitchen and bathroom, such as a basement unit with its own exit, an additional residential unit, and says every one must be registered with the City. Renting one? The City publishes a list of properties with registered additional residential units (City of Brampton: additional residential units (opens in a new tab)).
For the move, enter the number of flights of stairs at that address in the booking form, and use Special instructions to say which door the unit uses: a side door, a rear door or a shared entrance.
Winter moves and snow clearing
Brampton does not allow parking on streets during winter weather events, previously issued parking considerations are not valid then, and illegally parked vehicles may be towed at the owner's cost to clear the way for snow removal (City of Brampton snow and ice rules (opens in a new tab)). Once a winter event is declared, Brampton's Traffic and Parking By-law also bars parking or standing a vehicle on a street where it would interfere with snow clearing, and its definition of standing makes an exception only for picking up or dropping off passengers (By-law 93-93, section 44 (opens in a new tab)). The City clears arterial roads first, collector roads second and local roads third (City of Brampton snow clearing guide (opens in a new tab)).
Residents must clear their sidewalks of snow and ice by 11 a.m. the day after a snowfall. A cleared driveway and walkway also make moving day safer. We watch City notices and may adjust where the truck stops or the timing.
Renting? Notice and your moving date
In Ontario, a tenant with a monthly tenancy generally gives at least 60 days' written notice on the Landlord and Tenant Board's Form N9, with the termination date on the last day of a rental month. The Board's brochure was last updated in April 2018, so confirm the current rules with the LTB before you lock in a moving day: How a tenant can end their tenancy (Tribunals Ontario) (opens in a new tab).
Leaving things behind: Region of Peel waste
- If your home gets curbside waste collection, the Region offers a moving-out collection of extra garbage and bulky items, at no cost, on a weekday you choose. Contact Peel's Waste Management in advance and no garbage bag tags are needed. Renovation items and household hazardous waste are not part of it (Region of Peel: waste collection for moving out (opens in a new tab)).
- On your regular garbage day, furniture, mattresses and barbecues (with the propane tank removed) can go to the curb by 7 a.m. (Region of Peel: bulky items (opens in a new tab)). In a condo or apartment building, follow the building's rules for large items.
- Paint, propane tanks, fuels and household chemicals should not go on the truck: federal dangerous-goods rules limit what a hired mover can carry (Transport Canada (opens in a new tab)). Peel never collects hazardous waste at the curb. Its Community Recycling Centres take household hazardous waste at no charge (Region of Peel: household hazardous waste (opens in a new tab)), including the Brampton CRC on Chrysler Drive (opens in a new tab) and the Heart Lake CRC on Railside Drive (opens in a new tab), which ask for proof that you live in Peel.
- Pack jewellery, cash, medication and important documents in a bag that stays with you, not on the truck.
How a Brampton move works
- Send a request. In the Toronto / GTA booking form, choose Brampton as the pickup or destination city, then your crew and date, and see the price for that date. Or ask for a written quote first. Sending the form does not book the move or charge you anything.
- We confirm availability. Our Toronto / GTA team checks your details and contacts you by phone or email to confirm the date, the arrival window (Eastern Time) and the crew, plus anything priced separately, such as packing or a piano.
- Pay the deposit to book. You get a payment link for the deposit. Your move is booked once it is paid.
- Moving day. The crew loads, moves and places your furniture in the rooms you choose. Walk through each room with the crew before they leave.
What we need for an accurate quote
- Both addresses plus any extra stop, the date and the arrival window you prefer.
- Home type and size (house, townhouse, condo or apartment), or the number of workstations for an office.
- Stairs at each address, including the steps to a basement unit, and elevators (and whether they are booked).
- Where the truck can stop: your driveway, a loading area, visitor parking in a complex, or the street.
- Heavy pieces, how much packing you want, and any furniture that must be taken apart.
How moving prices work in Brampton
Brampton rates on standard dates, before HST (13%). The price covers the crew, the truck and the time. Brampton is outside the City of Toronto, so a move within Brampton, between Brampton and Toronto, or between Brampton and another community listed in the booking form starts with a flat price for the first 3 hours. After that, the hourly rate for your date applies. For 4 or 5 movers the minimum is 4 hours, so the fourth hour is billed at that hourly rate.
Example. With 2 movers, a move inside Brampton that takes 3 hours or less costs $750 on any date. If it takes 5 hours on a standard date, you pay $750 for the first 3 hours plus 2 hours at $150/hr.
Busy dates. The hourly rate after the first 3 hours can be higher on busy dates (Friday to Sunday, May to September and around month-end); every other date is a standard date. The flat first 3 hours stay the same on every date, and the booking form shows the exact hourly rate for your date.
| Crew | First 3 hours (flat, any date) | Minimum | Each hour after that (standard dates) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2 movers and a truck | $750 flat | 3 hours | $150/hr |
| 3 movers | $950 flat | 3 hours | $195/hr |
| 4 movers | $1,200 flat | 4 hours | $245/hr |
| 5 movers and 2 trucks | $1,600 flat | 4 hours | $325/hr |
Both addresses in the City of Toronto? Then the move is hourly from the start, with a 3-hour minimum (4 hours for 4 or 5 movers) plus 1 hour of travel: see Toronto moving prices. A move between Brampton and a place that is not listed in the booking form gets a written quote.
Deposit and booking. Sending the form is a request, with no payment taken. Once our Toronto / GTA team confirms availability, we send a payment link for the $105 deposit, and your move is booked when it is paid. Deposits are refundable if you cancel or reschedule at least 48 hours before your move; inside 48 hours a fee may apply.
Not priced online. Long-distance moves get one written flat quote per job. Packing, furniture disassembly, extra stops and heavy items such as pianos and safes are confirmed by our Toronto / GTA team before your move.

What you can verify before you book
- Founded in Ottawa in 2010. Brampton is a service area of our Toronto / GTA office.
- Prices you can see first. This page sets out the flat first 3 hours and the hourly rates, and the booking form then prices your own date.
- Written quotes. You accept the quote before anything is booked or any deposit is asked for.
These are real Men In Trucks photos, but they were taken before we opened in the Toronto area, so they show neither a Brampton job nor our Toronto office or crews.

Checks that apply to any mover in Brampton, including us
- Insist on a written contract: Ontario's consumer protection rules call for one, with the services described and every price itemized.
- Ask how much the final bill may exceed the estimate. The Province limits this unless you approve extra services or supplies.
- A mover may not hold your belongings to pressure you into renegotiating the contract.

Where we move in Brampton
The same price model, the flat first 3 hours and then hourly, applies anywhere in the City of Brampton: Downtown Brampton, Bramalea, Springdale, Heart Lake, Mount Pleasant, Fletcher's Meadow, Sandalwood, Castlemore and every other part of the city.
What changes from one Brampton address to the next is access, not the price model: an elevator booking in a condo, a townhouse complex's rules on where the truck stops, the side door of a basement unit, or the curb space on a crescent.

A move between Brampton and any of these places in the booking form also starts with the flat first 3 hours.

These are service areas, not office locations. The figure of about 40 km for Brampton is the road distance from our Toronto office to a reference point in Brampton, measured with OpenStreetMap routing in October 2026. Brampton covers a large area, so your quote is based on your actual addresses. Every place listed here is inside the 150 km local area of our Toronto / GTA office. Distance data © OpenStreetMap contributors. The rules on this page are Brampton's and Peel Region's; at the other end of your move, that municipality's rules apply.
Long-distance moves from and to Brampton
Moving from Brampton to a place that is not in the booking form, elsewhere in Ontario or in another province? You get one written flat quote, not an hourly price. Pick Long-distance as the move type in the booking form and name your destination. No deposit is requested unless you accept the quote.
Moving to Brampton from farther away? Call (365) 601-5001 or email [email protected] and our Toronto / GTA team will quote it.
Moving from Ottawa to Brampton? Our Ottawa office has a route page for that move: Ottawa to Brampton movers. That page lists the Ottawa office's contacts. Contact one office only: the office that receives your request owns the quote, the other office is named in it so the two teams can coordinate, and there is no second booking. For long-distance moves out of the Toronto area, see Toronto long-distance moves.
Questions about moving in Brampton
How much do movers cost in Brampton?
Brampton is outside the City of Toronto, so a local move here starts with a flat price for the first 3 hours: $750 for 2 movers and a truck, $950 for 3 movers, $1,200 for 4 movers and $1,600 for 5 movers with 2 trucks, before HST (13%). After 3 hours, the hourly rate for your date applies, which on standard dates is $150/hr, $195/hr, $245/hr or $325/hr for the same crews. 4- and 5-mover crews have a 4-hour minimum, so their fourth hour is billed at that hourly rate. The same prices apply to a move between Brampton and Toronto or another community listed in the booking form. The smallest move you can book online is the flat first 3 hours with 2 movers and a truck: $750 before HST (13%), on any date. For one piece or a few, ask for a written quote.
Why isn't a Brampton move hourly from the start, like a Toronto move?
Hourly pricing with a minimum plus 1 hour of travel applies only when both addresses are inside the City of Toronto. Brampton is a separate city in Peel Region, so a local move from or to Brampton, with the other address in Toronto, Brampton or another community in the booking form, is priced with the flat first 3 hours, then hourly. The booking form shows the price for your crew and date before you send the request.
Do I pay a deposit, and can I get it back?
Yes: a $105 deposit, refundable if you cancel or reschedule at least 48 hours before your move (inside 48 hours a fee may apply). Nothing is charged when you send the booking form. After our Toronto / GTA team confirms availability, you get a payment link for the deposit, and your move is booked once it is paid.
How far ahead should I book movers in Brampton?
As soon as your date is firm. If you rent, ask for a quote when you give notice: in Ontario a tenant with a monthly tenancy generally gives at least 60 days' written notice. In a condo tower or a townhouse complex, get the move rules from your property manager first, and book the elevator where there is one. Friday to Sunday, May to September and around month-end are busy dates, when the hourly rate after the first 3 hours can be higher.
Can the moving truck park on my street in Brampton?
Brampton's Traffic and Parking By-law does not count a vehicle standing temporarily while it is actually engaged in loading or unloading merchandise or passengers as parking, and its ban on parking large vehicles on streets in residential zones has an exception for a vehicle being used at the time to make a delivery or to provide a service. Posted signs and fire routes still apply, and once a winter event is declared no vehicle may park or stand where it would interfere with snow clearing. We plan where the truck stops around the signs on your street and your driveway; if you are unsure about your street, ask the City through 311.
I am moving into or out of a basement unit. What should I tell you?
Say so in the booking form: enter the number of flights of stairs at that address and use Special instructions to tell us which door the unit uses, such as a side door, a rear door or a shared entrance. The City of Brampton says every additional residential unit, such as a basement unit with its own kitchen and bathroom, must be registered with the City, and it publishes a list of registered properties.
Can I put a moving container or a disposal bin on the street?
Keep it on your own property, on the part of your driveway inside the property line. Brampton's Traffic and Parking By-law counts placing large refuse containers or bulk containers on a highway as obstructing it, and its definition of highway takes in the whole area between the property lines, including the boulevard between the property line and the curb. If you think a container has to go on the road or the boulevard, ask the City through 311 first.
What happens if it snows on moving day in Brampton?
Brampton does not allow parking on streets during winter weather events, and once one is declared its Traffic and Parking By-law also bars standing a vehicle where it would interfere with snow clearing. We watch City notices and may adjust where the truck stops or the timing; a cleared driveway and walkway help on the day.
How many movers do I need?
For a studio or 1-bedroom home the booking form suggests 2 movers; for 2 bedrooms, 3 movers; for 3 bedrooms, 4 movers; and for 4 or more bedrooms, 5 movers with 2 trucks. You can choose another crew size: stairs, basement entrances and how ready everything is at both addresses also matter. The Toronto / GTA team confirms the crew with you before the move is booked.
