What’s included in your Ottawa moving services?
Our Ottawa moving services include local residential and commercial moves, long-distance moving, and optional packing & loading help across Ottawa–Gatineau. We tailor the crew size and plan to your building type, access (stairs/elevator), and inventory.
How much do Ottawa movers cost?
Pricing depends on crew size, truck requirements, travel time, distance, access conditions (stairs, elevators, long carries), plus any packing needs. Share pickup/drop-off details and a quick inventory list and we’ll give you a clear quote.
Do you handle downtown Ottawa condo moves?
Yes. We’re used to condo move windows, elevator bookings, loading zones, and tight hallways common in downtown Ottawa buildings. We plan around building rules to keep your move smooth and on schedule.
Do you offer packing and loading help in Ottawa?
Yes. We offer packing options from fragile-only packing (kitchenware, glass, artwork) to broader packing support, plus loading/unloading help if you already have a truck or container.
Do you offer long-distance moving from Ottawa?
Yes. We provide Ottawa long distance moving with secure loading and coordinated delivery scheduling. Popular routes include Ottawa to Montréal, Toronto, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick.

Ottawa Moving Services — 2026 Rates, What’s Included & How We Book
Updated April 2026. Transparent pricing, 178+ five-star reviews, and a $100 fully-refundable deposit to lock your date. Local moves start at $140/hr with a 2-mover + truck crew. No surprise travel fees, no fuel surcharges — everything below is in the rate.
2026 Local Moving Rates in Ottawa
Our Ottawa hourly rate is flat and all-inclusive. No “travel time” add-on for jobs inside the Greenbelt, no fuel surcharge, and basic disassembly/reassembly of beds and tables is included. Packing materials (boxes, tape, wrap) are available at wholesale cost if you want us to supply them.
Studio / 1-bed apartment$140/hr
2-bed apt / small house$180/hr
3-bed house / heavy inventory$220/hr
4+ bed estate / tight timeline$300/hr
What’s included at $140/hr
Two uniformed movers, 26' truck, unlimited moving blankets, shrink wrap, floor runners, mattress bags, dollies, 4-wheel carts, and straps. Basic furniture disassembly/reassembly — beds, dining tables, sectional sofas. Up to $2M liability insurance on every move.
What’s not included (and why)
Piano moves, gun safes, hot tubs, and appliance disconnects are flat-rate add-ons ($150–$450) because they need specialty equipment and extra crew. Packing and unpacking is $55/hr per packer if you want us to handle boxes for you.
Travel / fuel / tolls
Inside the Greenbelt: no travel fee. Orléans, Kanata, Barrhaven, Stittsville: a one-time $49 travel fee covers truck-yard round trip. Long-distance (over 40 km) quoted flat-rate — see long-distance pricing.
Parking & permits
Centretown, ByWard, Sandy Hill, and The Glebe often need City of Ottawa “No Parking” signage placed 48 hrs in advance. We’ll advise during the quote; you pull the Encroachment Permit (the City doesn’t issue Temporary Consideration permits to movers).
Not sure which crew size fits?
Answer 6 questions in our inventory tool and we’ll recommend crew + truck + hours in 90 seconds.

How much do movers really cost in Ottawa in 2026?
For a local move inside Ottawa, budget $560–$1,100 for a 1-bedroom (4–8 hrs × $140/hr), $900–$1,600 for a 2-bedroom (5–9 hrs × $180/hr), and $1,540–$2,640 for a 3-bedroom house (7–12 hrs × $220/hr). These are real 2026 numbers from 400+ completed moves — not artificially low “starting at” prices. See the full breakdown at our Ottawa moving cost guide.
Do you charge for travel time or fuel?
No. Inside Ottawa’s Greenbelt the clock starts when we arrive at your door and stops when we finish unloading at the new place — no truck-yard round-trip charge, no fuel surcharge. For outlying areas (Orléans, Kanata, Barrhaven, Stittsville, Manotick) there’s a one-time $49 flat travel fee. That’s it — no percentage-based fuel escalators that balloon the bill.
What insurance do you carry and can I get a Certificate of Insurance?
We carry $2,000,000 general liability and $100,000 cargo coverage on every Ottawa move — standard, not upgraded. Condo boards in Centretown, Little Italy, and Westboro routinely ask for a Certificate of Insurance (COI) naming the building as additional insured; we issue it free within one business day. Just send us the building’s COI requirements when you book.
Are stairs, elevators, or long carries extra?
Stairs are not a separate fee — they’re part of the hourly clock. Elevator-only buildings are the same. Long carries (over 75 ft from door to truck) or walk-ups above the 3rd floor with no elevator add 15–30 minutes to load/unload; we quote that upfront so there’s no surprise when the bill arrives. If your building requires a specific elevator slot, tell us when you book so we can block it.
How much deposit do you take and is it refundable?
$100 flat, applied to your final bill. Fully refundable up to 48 hours before your move — cancel, reschedule, or change crew size without penalty. After the 48-hour window the deposit is non-refundable (we’ve already turned away other customers for your slot). You can pay the deposit securely online during booking — we don’t ask for the full quote upfront like some national chains do.
Do you move on weekends and month-end? Is it more expensive?
Yes — Saturdays and the last three days of every month are our busiest slots. The hourly rate doesn’t change (still $140/hr for 2 movers + truck) but availability tightens. For a July 1 or September 1 move, book 4–6 weeks ahead. For a Saturday in peak season, 2–3 weeks. Same-day moves are possible mid-month mid-week — call 613-800-0917 if you’re in a pinch or see our last-minute movers page.
Can you provide packing services, or do I have to pack everything myself?
Either works. Self-pack is standard and keeps the cost lowest. Partial-pack (kitchen + wardrobes only) runs $250–$500. Full-pack (every room) is $55/hr per packer plus materials at cost, typically 1 day ahead of your move for a 2-bed. See our packing services page for a room-by-room breakdown, or download the free 8-week packing checklist.
What if my new place isn’t ready — do you offer storage?
Yes. Containerized, climate-controlled storage from our Ottawa facility, $139/month month-to-month, with free pickup and redelivery when booked as a two-leg move. Ideal for reno delays, closing-date gaps, or downsizing before long-distance. Read about moving & storage Ottawa.
Do you do long-distance moves out of Ottawa?
Yes — Ottawa to Toronto, Montreal, Kingston, and across Ontario/Québec are our busiest routes. Long-distance is flat-rate (not hourly) because you shouldn’t pay extra if we hit traffic on the 401. Typical ranges: Ottawa→Toronto $2,400–$3,800, Ottawa→Montreal $1,400–$2,200 for a 2-bed. Full breakdown at long-distance movers Ottawa.
How do I book and how fast is a quote?
Two ways: (1) book online in about 2 minutes with our calendar picker and $100 deposit, or (2) call 613-800-0917 for a human quote in under 10 minutes during business hours. For complex moves (piano, safe, multi-stop, storage-in-transit) we recommend the phone call. Same-day bookings accepted subject to availability.
