Can you assemble flat-pack furniture (IKEA, Wayfair, Article)?
Yes. Tell us the brand, the model name, and the room location at booking. Standard IKEA boxes (Malm, Pax, Hemnes, Kallax) and Article boxes are routine for our crews. For Wayfair or Amazon items where the instructions are scarce, we will work from the printed sheet in the box; we cannot assemble without the original hardware bag.
Will you take away the old item I am replacing?
Yes â and we will route it to a charity if it is in donatable condition (Helping With Furniture, Ottawa Mission, Habitat ReStore) at no extra cost beyond the on-the-clock time. If the item is damaged or has bed-bug history, we will dispose of it through Trail Road Waste Facility for the same hourly rate plus the city’s tipping fee at cost.
Can you hoist a sofa through a balcony or window?
Yes, with 24-hour notice. We need a photo of the window or balcony, the item dimensions, the floor number, and the building’s permission to use the exterior swall. Hoisting uses a 3-mover crew at $195/hr, a rope-and-pulley rig set on the floor above, and corner pads to protect the building exterior. We do not hoist above the 6th floor.
Do you charge a separate assembly fee?
No. Assembly is billed at the on-site hourly rate as part of the same crew time. There is no flat “assembly fee” surcharge. If a Pax wardrobe takes the crew an extra 45 minutes after delivery, that 45 minutes is billed at $150/hr (2-mover crew) or $195/hr (3-mover crew), in 15-minute increments.
Can you receive a furniture delivery at your warehouse if I am not home?
Yes. Our 2768 Sheffield Road warehouse receives third-party deliveries (Restoration Hardware, West Elm, Crate & Barrel, Pottery Barn) on your behalf during business hours. We sign for the freight, photograph the packaging, store it indoors, and deliver to your home on a scheduled window. The first 14 days of storage are included; longer storage is billed at the standard monthly vault rate.
In-home furniture rearranging
Some customers don’t need a move at all — they need furniture moved within the same home, office, or building. We do these as fixed-fee single-crew jobs: a 2-mover team for 1-2 hours can move a sectional from one room to another, swap a queen for a king bed, reposition a piano against a different wall, or shift bedroom furniture between floors when a tenant downsizes within the same building.
