Yes. Slate pool tables require disassembly into 3 slate sections, careful transport, and on-site reassembly with re-levelling. We bring the wrenches, slate dollies, and felting tools. Felt replacement is available as a paid add-on if your felt is worn.
Can you move a hot tub between houses?
Yes. Hot tub moves usually require a 4-5 person crew, proper hot tub dollies, and plywood ramps for clearing fences or deck steps. We need to know hot tub dimensions, weight (empty), and access at both addresses to quote accurately.
What’s the heaviest item you’ve moved?
We routinely move items in the 1,500-2,500 lb range — large gun safes, industrial printers, marble countertops, slate pool tables. For items beyond 2,500 lbs (e.g., commercial vault doors, full-size safes 3,000+ lbs), we’ll do a site visit first to plan access and rigging properly.
Do I need to disassemble my gym equipment before you arrive?
Not usually — we handle disassembly and reassembly as part of the move. Tell us what equipment you have (treadmill, power rack, Smith machine, etc.) when you request a quote and we’ll bring the right crew and tools.
Are specialty moves insured?
Yes. Men In Trucks is licensed and insured with $5M liability coverage and $50K cargo insurance. How far in advance should I book a specialty move?
For pianos, pool tables, hot tubs, and safes we recommend 2-3 weeks advance booking. For peak season (May-September) and weekends, 4 weeks is better. Same-week moves can sometimes be accommodated — call 613-800-0917 to check availability.
Do you move specialty items into apartment buildings and condos?
Yes. We handle elevator booking, COI submission to building management, parking permits where needed, and access planning. Tell us the building name when you request your quote.
