What Makes Pool Table Moving Different

Slate is the whole game

The playing surface of a real pool table is not wood or composite — it’s solid slate, usually in three pieces, each 1″ thick and 200 lb or more. Slate cannot be tipped past about 30 degrees, dropped, or stored on its corner. We use dedicated slate dollies and two-mover lifts on every slate piece, and we never stack slate against anything else in the truck. Composite or “MDF” tables exist (mostly bar boxes and budget furniture-style tables) and are easier to move, but the disassembly logic is the same.

Re-level or it doesn’t play

A properly assembled pool table sits dead level — typically within 0.005″ across the bed. Move it without disassembly and the slate seams shift; reassemble it without a re-level and you’ll never trust a long shot again. Felt, rails, and cushions

We can usually preserve existing felt during a move — slate stays covered, rails come off intact, pockets and cushion rails are bagged and labelled. If your felt is worn or torn, we offer in-place re-felting during the same appointment for an additional cost (we keep tournament-grade Simonis and Championship felt in stock; specialty colours on order). Cushion replacement is also available if the rubber has gone hard.
