Almost always, yes. We arrive with a tape and door-frame protractor and measure the safe’s diagonal vs. your basement-stair clearance before lifting. If the diagonal is within 1.5 inches of clearance, we use felt frame protectors and a controlled-tilt walk-up. If it’s tighter than that, we’ll quote a door-frame casing removal as an optional add ($75) instead of forcing the lift. Safe is shimmed back to plumb at delivery so the door swings true.
How does pool-table reassembly work — do I need a separate billiards mechanic?
No. Our 2-person specialty crew is trained to dis-assemble and re-assemble 7-, 8-, and 9-foot slate tables — including 3-piece slate, rail bolts, and cloth re-stretch where the original cloth is still serviceable. We bring a torque wrench and a digital level: re-leveled to within 0.5 mm across the slate seam, which is the tournament-spec floor. If your cloth needs replacement, we’ll quote it on-site, but the lift, transport, and re-assembly are one line item.
Can I keep water and chemistry in my hot tub during the move?
No — we drain on site before lifting. A full 350-gallon tub adds about 2,900 lb of water, which is past any residential-driveway weight allowance and well past our sled rating. We bring a 1-inch sump pump and a 50-ft drain hose; figure 25 minutes to drain a typical 7-ft tub. Do you do same-day heavy-item moves, or only scheduled?
