These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the website mitmoving.ca and the moving services provided by Men In Trucks Moving Inc. (“Men In Trucks”, “we”, “our”, or “us”). By booking a move, requesting a quote, or using our website, you agree to these Terms.

1. Services

Men In Trucks provides residential moving, commercial moving, long-distance moving, packing, storage, and junk removal services in Ottawa and across Canada. Specific services and pricing for your move are confirmed in writing when you book.

2. Quotes and bookings

Quotes are based on the information you provide — inventory, addresses, access, and service requirements. If the actual move differs materially from what was quoted (additional items, extra stops, stairs or elevator delays, or other factors outside our control), the final price may be adjusted. We will let you know before extra charges apply whenever possible.

A booking is confirmed once you receive written confirmation from us. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel service in limited circumstances, including safety concerns, misrepresentation of the move, or non-payment.

3. Cancellations and rescheduling

You can reschedule or cancel your booking by contacting us. Cancellations made with at least 48 hours’ notice before your move date are fully refundable. Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the move may be subject to a cancellation fee to cover crew scheduling and lost revenue. Specific terms for your booking are included in your confirmation.

4. Payment

Payment is due on completion of your move unless a deposit or alternate schedule is agreed in writing. We accept major credit cards, e-transfer, and other common payment methods. All prices are in Canadian dollars and exclusive of HST unless stated otherwise.

5. Our responsibilities

We will carry out your move with reasonable care and skill, using trained and insured crew members. We will take reasonable steps to protect your belongings and your property during the move.

6. Liability and insurance

Men In Trucks carries cargo insurance that covers damage or loss caused by our negligence, subject to policy limits and exclusions. Our standard liability is based on weight-based valuation as set out in our booking confirmation. For high-value items, please let us know in advance so you can arrange additional coverage.

We are not responsible for:

Damage caused by items you packed yourself (“packed by owner”), unless there is visible external damage to the carton
Items of extraordinary value (cash, jewellery, art, important documents) unless declared and agreed in writing before the move
Delays or issues caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as weather, traffic, building access, or third-party actions
Damage to items left at origin or delivered to an address you provided that turns out to be inaccessible

Claims must be submitted in writing within 30 days of the move.

7. Your responsibilities

You agree to:

Provide accurate information about your move, including inventory, access, and dates
Ensure someone 18 or older is present to authorize the move at pickup and delivery
Remove or declare hazardous materials (propane, flammable liquids, firearms, perishables)
Disconnect and prepare appliances before the crew arrives, unless you have booked those services
Pay the agreed price for the services provided

8. Acceptable use of the website

You agree not to misuse this website or attempt to access it in any way that damages, disables, or overloads it, or that interferes with other users. You agree not to attempt unauthorized access to any part of our systems.

9. Intellectual property

The content on this website — text, images, logos, and branding — is owned by Men In Trucks Moving Inc. or its licensors and is protected by copyright and trademark law. You may view and share it for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not reproduce or republish it without written permission.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Ontario. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of our services will be handled in the courts of Ontario, Canada.
